Effective 8 May 2024, Police Bank will no longer accept or offer cheque issuing and clearing services.
This decision aligns with the significant decline in the use of cheques across Australia as more members prefer the speed, security, and convenience of alternate electronic payment methods.

Important Dates
1 February 2024 | Police Bank stopped automatically issuing Cheque Books for new and existing accounts. |
8 May 2024 | Cheque Book/Facility access was discontinued for all new and existing accounts. |
What This Means for You?
You can no longer write cheques to make payment from your account.
You cannot deposit cheques to receive payment at any Police Bank branch.

What you need to do?
There is no action required as the changes are automatic. However, for security reasons we encourage you to destroy your old cheque or deposit books.
What do you need to do if you receive cheques on a regular basis?
Consider having funds directly credited into your bank account by providing your BSB and account number to those making the payments.
