Performance Marketing Manager

As the Performance Marketing Manager you will drive the delivery of member growth for the Bank with a focus on Everyday Banking, Home and Personal Lending through digital channels. This will be achieved by developing, executing, and optimising multi-channel digital and direct marketing campaigns to acquire new to bank customers across each product portfolio to achieve the Bank’s annual acquisition plans. 

You will be responsible for the planning, optimisation and measurement of paid digital media activity across all campaigns and channels (SEM, Social, Display, Video, Mobile etc) that support lead generation and new to bank growth. Ensuring all digital media plans achieve brand objectives, drive omnichannel sales and increase ROAS. As an expert, this role ensures digital marketing best practices are maximised, and actionable insights provided to the business for continuous improvement.

About the role

Campaign Management

  • Plan, execute and optimise digital media campaigns across various channels including paid search, display, social media and affiliate marketing.
  • Own the performance marketing stream to achieve lead generation and new business targets within marketing investment efficiency guard rails.
  • Brief our agency partners on creative asset development and production, media planning and content creation and production including paid search, social media, email marketing, affiliate marketing, display advertising and owned channels.
  • Personally build, manage, maintain, test, and optimise acquisition campaigns across various channels including paid social, SEM, and display to drive revenue and increase ROI. 
  • Ensure all marketing activities are compliant with regulatory requirements.

Performance Analysis

  • Track and analyse campaign performance, including traffic, conversion rates, CAC and ROAS. Generate insights to inform decision making and optimisation.
  • Identify replicable marketing strategies, tactics and channels that are in line with business objectives with an implement, test, and measure mindset.
  • Identify marketing performance issues and pinpoint the root cause analysis
  • Forecast, measure, analyse, and report on data trends to gain insights and provide recommendations 
  • Analyse and optimise campaign performance based on data-driven insights and strategy using quantitative analysis to ensure campaigns achieve predefined KPI’s, ROI and objectives are met 

Budget Management

  • Manage digital media budgets effectively, allocating resources to campaigns that deliver the highest returns.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and bid strategies to maximise ROI.
  • Develop and track expense budgets against plan and ensuring budget expectations are achieved and exceeded to ensure cost-per-lead and cost-per-acquisition is minimised

Content Development

  • Collaborate with internal teams / agencies to develop engaging and relevant content for digital media campaigns. 
  • Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across channels to deliver a consistent customer experience

Optimisation and Testing

  • Continuously test and optimise campaign performance through A/B testing, segmentation, top vs bottom of funnel, and other tactics. 
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of dollars invested
  • Build high performing landing pages, nurture journeys, and marketing automations, and test and iterate to deliver best results.

About you

  • Extensive direct marketing and digital experience, preferably with a background in insurance or financial services or related industries with significant experience in Performance Marketing and lead generation on a large scale
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent in a Business, Marketing, or related discipline. Current Google Ads Certification preferred.
  • Strong platform knowledge of Facebook Business Manager, Google Ads & Programmatic buying.
  • Knowledge and experience with advertising, digital tracking, attribution modelling & analytical suites 
  • Broad technical understanding of direct and digital marketing strategy, CX, channels and platforms, including email, social media, search and display advertising. 
  • Knowledge of the digital media landscape including SEM, Programmatic, Mobile, Social, Video and Native.
  • Passion for all things Search- Paid Search (Google Ads and Microsoft Ads)
  • Exceptional communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record of personally building and scaling B2C acquisition campaigns with a strong focus on ROI.
  • Adaptable and agile towards changing work demands
  • Insight driven with the ability to turn data into insight and insight into profitable action steams to develop and optimise customer acquisition and onboarding experiences 
  • Be a key part of a culture of continuous improvement & optimisation. 
  • Works collaboratively with our media agencies to continuously improve and refine our media processes.

Tech Skills 

  • Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics to interpret data and insights
  • Strong understanding of web and app analytics suites.
  • Strong Excel and Power BI capabilities.
  • Advanced capabilities in A/B testing
